Psyllium husk refers to the cleaned, dried seed coat (epidermis) separated from the dried ripe seeds of Plantago ovata forks

The husk of Psyllium is the actual coating of mucilage around the seed. It is considered pure dietary fiber and is used in human and animal foods and human and veterinary medicines as a fiber supplement.
